Fire pits and fireplaces are used almost daily by many individuals for many different things. After using a fire pit or fireplace for a number of months, you can become a little too comfortable when operating your fire pit. This can turn into a deadly and dangerous situation. Remember when using your fire pit or fireplace you should never leave a burning fire unattended. If you do this it can turn into a tragic event. Doing so can put you, your family, and your possessions in serious danger. It is a good idea to keep a fire extinguisher nearby at all time. This is something to fall back on just incase something back does happen. It is a good idea to be prepared for the worse and hope for the best. If you follow all of the safety precautions listed in this article you shouldn’t have to worry about being in danger when using your fire pit.

One thing to remember is always put out a fire completely before leaving the scene. Make sure a fire is completely out before you turn your back on it. It is a good idea to pour water on your fire if you have water available. If you don’t have water available then you can always put sand on top of the fire. This will smoother out the fire. Just be sure to make sure that the fire is completely out before you leave it unattended. If you don’t a small flame can quickly turn into a quick fire that can quickly go out of control.
